Maidfest Returns This May

Maidstone is set to come alive this May as Maidfest returns for 2026, bringing a vibrant, month‑long celebration of the town’s diverse business community.

Running from 1–31 May, the campaign will shine a spotlight on the shops, cafés, restaurants, bars, leisure venues and services that make Maidstone town centre such a dynamic and welcoming place to visit.

Maidfest is delivered, funded and organised by One Maidstone BID, with the aim of supporting local businesses, increasing footfall and encouraging residents and visitors to shop local.

Throughout May, Maidfest will run alongside a packed calendar of events and attractions across the town, including the popular Maidstone Fringe Festival, family activities and seasonal experiences—giving visitors even more reasons to spend time in the town centre.

Maidfest 2026 will feature three key elements, all designed to encourage people to discover something new and support their favourite local businesses:

Businesses across Maidstone will be offering a wide range of exclusive deals, discounts and promotions throughout May. Visitors will be able to explore offers across food and drink, retail, entertainment, services and more via the Maidfest website.

Different business sectors will be highlighted across the month, showcasing the variety and creativity of Maidstone’s town centre—from independent retailers and hospitality venues to health, beauty and professional services.

Members of the public will be invited to nominate and vote for their favourite local businesses, helping to recognise the people and places that make Maidstone special.

Everyone who votes will be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 shopping voucher.

With festivals, live entertainment, family‑friendly activities and seasonal events taking place throughout May, Maidfest provides the perfect opportunity to explore the town, enjoy what’s on offer and support local businesses.

The campaign will be backed by a strong promotional push, including radio advertising, social media and town‑centre marketing, all designed to drive awareness and footfall.

Maidfest will culminate in a Networking Event on 9 June (5.30–7.30pm), bringing local businesses together to celebrate the campaign and announce the winner of the public vote.
