Job Summary: The Fabric Engineer is responsible for the upkeep and repair of building fabric including doors, walls, ceilings within the shopping centre as well as basic decorating, carpentry & plumbing.
This role involves troubleshooting and resolving issues swiftly to ensure smooth operations and an optimal shopping experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Routine Maintenance: Carry out or assist with basic PPM tasks as part of a 3-man team.
- Repairs: Respond promptly to maintenance requests and oversee the repair of faults and malfunctions.
- Safety Compliance: Assist the team in maintaining a safe and compliant workspace and site
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs utilizing the CAFM system provided
- Vendor Management: Liaise and assist with external service providers for specialized repairs and installations when necessary.
- Continuous Improvement: be proactive in identifying/reporting issues.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience in maintenance engineering, preferably in a commercial or retail environment.
- Skills: general building maintenance including plumbing, decorating and carpentry skills (preferred)
- Education: Relevant trade qualification or certification in engineering, building maintenance, or a related field. (preferred)
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with management, vendors, and other staff.
