Waste management

Did you know that 0% of the waste generated at The Mall Maidstone goes to landfill? it’s been that way since 2012.

  • In 2021, we sent more than 48 tonnes of dry mix for recycling, meaning we saved almost 96 barrels of oil.
  • We recycled 120 tonnes of cardboard in 2021, saving the equivalent of 2,040 trees and over 850 tonnes of CO2 from landfill.3,827 trees preserved

Charity Partnerships

We are proud to support many wonderful local charities and community groups, including:

  • Making A Difference to Maidstone (MADM), supports individuals and families who find themselves in crisis through homelessness, domestic abuse, addiction, financial need, unemployment, and more.
  • WeClick CIC: Empowering Local Outreach and Digital Engagement. Partnering with NGOs, local governments, councils, and organisations requiring outreach and digital connection solutions. ·
  • Mid Kent Mind, is a mental health charity that provides information and support through its website and infoline, runs an online community, and campaigns for better mental health services and policies.
  • Making Miracles, is the birth trauma and bereavement care charity offering families the support, services and tools they need to help find their “new normal” following trauma and grief.

Offsetting Our Digital Footprint

We offset the CO₂ emissions from our website through the Tree-Nation Net Zero Website smart label. This innovative system tracks website usage, calculates related emissions, and plants the exact number of trees needed to balance them out.
